I joined Twitter last summer and have actually been fortunate enough to find several clients directly from my Twitter network. I think your new approach may work well, although be sure that you don't only only promote yourself - answer questions, be helpful and part of the community, even if in a somewhat limited way. Twitter really is a different kind of community and you can add to or detract from your reputation if you aren't careful of your use.

As for monitoring conversations - RSS is one way, but tools like Tweetdeck or Tweetlater are other great option for monitoring keywords. Good luck!

Hi Lauri

Thanks for the heads-up. I do plan to re-install Tweetdeck again for our new account: @woodyoulike and as we already do on various DIY-forums and our own FAQ & News site: free advice a plenty ;-)

On the Money

I just registered with Twitter - if only to see how easy the process is. However, I get the impression it is dangerously close to sending spam texts ...

Hi 'On the Money'

Depends on how you tread IMHO. Tweeting: I can help, look here (link to your website) I would consider spam text indeed.
Asking: "can I help? We've written an article about the problem you're describing (link to article)" would be more gently and straightforward - I hope.
